What inspires you?
Creative people, an untouched mountain and exploring nature with my kids…

Favorite Food: Asian food.

Best Vacation:
Sitting for many days in a wet and cold snow cave and waiting for good weather and a great climb.

Best Memory: The birth of my children Stefan and Amelie.

Worst Memory:
When my three year old son had a bad accident and we did not know long time if he would survive.

Personal Highlights:
Searching the limits and have fun! Finding and pushing for new goals in mountaineering. My expeditions to the Himalayas, India, North and South America. Climbing adventures at the Alps and pioneering the ice and mixed climbing.

Favorite saying and when you use it most:
“Should hold!” - If I climb a very hard pitch with poor and worth protection.

  • Over 100 solo and first solo ascents at the Alps North Faces, Eiger, Matterhorn and Grandes Jorasses North Face solo in one season.
  • First European M10 and M13 Mixed climbs.
  • Rock climbing up to 5.14a.
